One of my favorite blogs, The Onion Dome (2,0) offers humorous satirical articles about various aspects of Orthodox life in and outside the parish. Father Vasily Vasilievich is a recurring character on this blog.

Thanks for the plug!
It’s an honor! I’ve just started blogging, but I’ve always enjoyed reading your blog! Just so you know, Father Vasily has a ton of fans among Orthodox college students!
Cool! Now I just need to figure out how to get them each to buy a copy of the book! 🙂
Hmm. . . do you know any Russian priests who could make a guest appearance as “Father Vasily” in a Youtube video? You could promote the book with a video featuring a cameo appearance by the “irascible yet lovable curmudgeon” himself!
I’ll definitely buy it when I come back to the U.S.! One of my friends would definitely appreciate it as a gift. He and I have this thing where we make rather awful “imitation” Father Vasily or Yiayia jokes and share them with our friends. Mixed results.
Have you see the Yia-yia yogurt commercials on YouTube? She’s Father Vasiliy’s female, Greek counterpart. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=We3MxsWdqOc
This is hilarious! I’ve found a new source for procrastination! I think at some point the two should meet! Or even better- a babushka and a yiayia!
Very good website you have here but I was wanting
to know if you knew of any community forums that cover the same topics talked about in this
article? I’d really like to be a part of online community where I can get advice from other
experienced individuals that share the same interest.
If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
Thanks a lot!
